 Sharon Stone: Raised $10 million for AIDS research
The US film star Sharon Stone has raised ten million dollars (6.4 million euros) at a hi-profile event that was held on the periphery of the Cannes film festival. For this she took help of Madonna, the pop diva.
More news in this matter has been inferred from the reporters. According to them, Madonna has joined hands with Sharon Stone who hosted the event for the auction of one of her guitars.
In addition she is also exhibiting extracts from her newly made documentary on the AIDS victims of Malawi.
So far as Sharon Stone is concerned, she also has auctioned her Porsche 911 for 500,000 euros.
Sharon Stone’s gala event for a noble mission has attracted a host of other celebrities. They are the eminent jury members of Cannes film festival namely actresses Natalie Portman and Jeanne Balibar.
Other personalities like singers P. Diddy and Mary J. Blige also were present at Sharon Stone’s event. Actresses Elizabeth Hurley, Michelle Yeoh, Diane Kruger and Milla Jovovitch as well as actors like Dennis Hopper and Christian Slater also have graced the occasion.
The money that was collected from the show would be donated to the ‘Amfar, the American Foundation for Aids Research.’ Legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor has laid the foundation of the organization.
On Thursday a dinner also was organized where the tables were booked at high prices that range between 40,000 and 150,000 dollars.
Last year also Sharon Stone has hosted such an event and also raised huge amount of money amounting to seven million dollars. |
