 American actress and recording artist Brittany Murphy have signed to act in the action movie "The Expendables".
Murphy will play the role of Mickey Rourke Rourke's girlfriend, a singer. The part calls for her to perform a musical number.
Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, David Zayas, 50 Cent, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture are among the casts.
The plot of the film is a team of mercenaries head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator.
David Zayas will play the role of dictator.
The director Sylvester Stallone himself has written the screenplay of this movie.
The production of the movie will began this week in Brazil. The Nu Image/Millennium Films production also will lens in Louisiana.
Brittany Murphy has starred in films like "Just Married", "8 Mile", "Clueless", "Girl, Interrupted", "Riding in Cars with Boys", "Sin City", "The Dead Girl", "Happy Feet" and "Spun" .
Murphy is currently working on her debut album, which is set to be released in 2009.
