Christina Applegate: 'Going the Distance' with Justin and Barrymore

Hollywood born actress Christina Applegate will star alongside Justin Long and Drew Barrymore in the romantic comedy "Going the Distance".

American television and film actor Charlie Day, who is best known for playing Charlie Kelly on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", will also star in the movie.

Nanette Burstein will direct the New project from a script by Geoff LaTulippe.

The movie centres on a couple (Drew Barrymore and Justin Long), who struggle to make their long distance relationship work. Applegate will play the role of Barrymore's sister and Day will play the role of Long's best friend.

Christina Applegate, the star of ABC's "Samantha Who?", last appeared in "The Rocker" and next lends her voice to "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel".

The movie "Going The Distance" is expected to open in cinemas in 2011.
