'Bold and the Beautiful' finally wins Daytime Emmy
After 22 years on the air, CBS' "The Bold and the Beautiful", finally won drama series honors at the Daytime Emmys on Sunday.
The show's executive producer Bradley Bell has been finally able to manage to walk in the footsteps of his late father William Bell, the co-creator of "The Young and the Restless", a show that was honored seven times in the same category.
This year, "Bold and Beautiful" beat "All My Children" and "Days of Our Lives".
After winning the award, Bradley Bell said, "It's incredibly exciting because I grew up going to visit that show. It's sweeter after 22 years, it didn't come in five or 10 or 15 years. I think my dad is here in spirit. He would probably say, 'It's about time'. I took out the expletive".
Drama series lead acting honors went to Christian LeBlanc of "The Young and the Restless" and Susan Haskell of ABC's "One Life to Live".
The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Sesame Street.
American television actress Vanessa Williams hosted the show on August 30 at Los Angeles' Orpheum Theatre.
